Please come by and browse though our extensive collection. We are located in the lower level of the Abington Free Library, next to the Children’s Department. All of our books, movies and music are for sale at bargain prices!

BOOKCELLAR hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, noon-4 p.m.; Wednesday, noon-8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Donations are gratefully accepted daily at the Circulation Desk.

    • text books three years old or older
    • Reader's Digest Condensed Books
    • encyclopedias

  • Please no musty books or books in poor condition.

Silent Auction Rules:

1. Look at the jewelry in Abington Free Library's Display Case,

2. Find the page in the bidding book for the item by its number.

3. Write down in the bidding book:

  • the amount you wish to bid,
  • your name
  • address and
  • phone number.

4. Those with the highest bid will be called to purchase their jewelry after the auction. Please come by the Circulation Desk to pay for and pick up your items.

2010 CONTEST DETAILS: 

Who is eligible? Students of all ages (Kindergarten through 12th Grade)
 

Is there a required theme? Yes! Your drawing must illustrate one of the
following themes:

Communities thrive @ your Library (the 2010 National Library Week theme)  

- OR -

Why your Library is important to you.


 
How will winners be selected? Judges will select one winner from each grade K-6,  one winner from grades 7-8, and one winner from grades 9-12.


1Winners will be notified by phone by April 5th.
A celebratory dessert reception will be held for the winners and their families during National Library Week (April 11th – 17th).

 


 

How do I enter?

  1. Design an original bookmark.  Your drawing may be vertical or horizontal, but it must measure 2.25” x 7” and fit entirely within the border.
  2. The bookmarks will be printed in black and white, so use a medium that reproduces well!
    Hint: Test the printability of your drawing by making a photocopy.
  3. Draw your artwork in the space provided on the entry form; or you may submit your drawing on a separate sheet (attached to your entry form) provided that the drawing meets the dimension requirements.
  4. Return your completed form to the entry box located at the Circulation Desk by March 12th. You may submit more than one entry.
